Anderson Subaru is excited to announce its largest donation to date in support of the Pensacola Breast Cancer Association (PBCA). Based in Pensacola, FL, and established 2003, the mission of the PBCA is to raise money for education, screening and diagnosis of breast cancer in the Escambia County indigent and underinsured patient population. The PBCA is a local charity, and all funds received stay here in our local community.
Annual donations from Anderson Subaru to the organization have grown since the inauguration of the partnership in 2014. The first presentation of funds was $1,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Results of the 2014 and 2015 Share the Love (Hometown Charity) Events, were $7,439 and $6,345 respectively. This year’s donation for the 2016 Share the Love Hometown Charity Campaign, is the largest donation to date: $14,475, which brings the total funds contributed to $29,259.
The donation was presented Thursday morning at Anderson Subaru. Barbara Dean and Lynda Cavener, both members of the PBCA board, were there to receive the donation. Also in attendance to help present the check was Brian Wisser of Subaru of America. “This is going to change a lot of lives. You are providing mammograms to so many people,” Barbara Dean’s reaction was genuine and moving.
Subaru of America along with Subaru retailers like Anderson Subaru, donated over $24 million in funds to charities through the USA as a result of the 2016 Share the Love Campaign.
